{oh, alfalfa!}

i just found this picture at alivia's blog.
i've probably seen the little rascals more times in my life than i've been to the dentist, which is why i quote alfalfa and buckwheat all day long and have such sensitive teeth.

i'm really, really stuck in the early 90s when it comes to movies and tv. we've been watching boy meets world lately on youtube--using imdb.com to find out the episode names and which order they go in--and have concluded that it might actually be one of the best sitcoms ever made. trust me, it's wittier and sadder and more romantic and just BETTER than your average "now" sitcom.

Boy Meets World is my favorite TV show of all time and everyone makes fun of me when I say that. The early ones are the best but the whole thing is a gem.

I LOVE Freaks and Geeks. The end. Also, that picture is totally rad. My roommate Meg and I--our favorite thing to do was to sing "You are so beautiful," cracking voice and all. My favorite kids' movies from the 90s are Little Rascals, The Sandlot, and Little Giants. Not to mention the Mighty Ducks trilogy. Hahaha!

Suzy Krause said...

oh man. mighty ducks, yes, little giants. the sandlot. not to mention, the big green... {if you haven't seen it, you should.}

Ok seriously can't believe how funny boy meets world is still...seriously. The 90's knew their comedy (with the exception of Home Improvement :P)

larissa: i know! i just want to meet her and hug the crap out of her. and topanga. and alfalfa. and corey. and shawn, and eric. especially eric. what a goof. {i know what a nerd i am.}

hannah: exactly. home improvement...yikes. but all the girls in my class watched it because of jtt. {haha!}

Boy Meets World was my FAVORITE sitcom back in the day. My brother totally had a crush on Topanga.

Suzy Krause said...

but see, ashlee, you need to watch it again, even if you think you've already got everything out of it that you're ever going to. it's so much better when you're in your mid-twenties! i promise! :D

oh my gosh, how cute! and i just quoted that movie today. weird.
i also love boy meets world AND freaks and geeks AND the truman show.
i don't watch family matters but i do watch the cosby show. different era, i know. but still its cool.

Suzy Krause said...

oh the cosby show is fun too!! and you really should give family matters a chance. start right at the beginning and keep on. :)

Just because I'm watching it right now-- Hocus Pocus. Halloween movies don't get better than this. :)

Also, one day when my husband isn't combining, and your husband isn't landscaping like a mad man we should all get together and watch Big Green!!! Or Mighty Ducks. Or Little Giants. Or Angels in the OUtfield. The earl 890's kids' sports movie possibilities are endless...

Suzy Krause said...

oh my goodness! yes! in, like, november or something!
or, since they all have basically the same plot line and even characters, we could watch the beginning of one, the middle of another, and the end of another!
great idea, huh?

JTay said...

What are you talking about!? The Big Green is about a rag-tag bunch of kids who are hopeless as a team, and an unlikely adult comes along to be their coach, and at some point a star player shows up, and then in an inspirational way they all pull together as a team and win the championship. Whereas Mighty Ducks is about... Riiiight.

Suzy Krause said...

exactly!!! so instead of a marathon of all the same movie over and over, we could have one showing of...you know...the little mighty big green giant ducks!
?

and THEN, lmbgg2.
