today, google friend connect bites the dust for non-blogspot blogs, and {i've heard but don't know for sure} for the rest of us it's coming to an end soon. so. i guess that means that we all need to find a different way to keep in touch?
alternatives: subscribe by email {look over to the right sidebar}, use bloglovin or some other such platform to follow, or add my blog manually to your subscriptions on Google Reader. i also have a facebook page and a twitter account where i link to new posts.
to me, blogging isn't about numbers and subscribers and all that HOWEVER i do like the little community i have here, and i like having a bit of an audience, because it keeps me motivated to write and {try to} be creative. plus, i've met so many cool people from literally all over the world and just learned a lot in general. GFC used to seem to be the easiest way to, you know, connect, but i'll survive.
hope you stick around!

Such a weird decision. I use Bloglovin' anyway but still, surprises me that they made this choice.
I've got your saved on my Bloglovin so there's lots more stalking *ahem* following to come! ;) x
So it is going for everyone at some point? I should really read those google+ things instead of skipping them.
i know hey? i use google reader, and just manually subscribe to stuff, so it doesn't really affect me at all i don't thiiiink. but everyone'll probably lose a bunch of readers. ohhh well. sigh.
suhhweeeeet. :)
well...now i can't find where i read that. but i know i read it somewhere. i guess i should look into it...but yeah. sigh. weird.
I mostly used Reader, anyway, but I moved all the blogs I followed with GFC (including yours) over yesterday - it seemed pointless just moving the non-Blogger ones.
for real. WHAT A HASSLE. but ohhh welll...
Isn't it just for "non-blogger" sites?
"Google Friend Connect—Friend Connect allows webmasters to add social features to their sites by embedding a few snippets of code. We're retiring the service for all non-Blogger sites on March 1, 2012. We encourage affected sites to create a Google+ page and place a Google+ badge on their site so they can bring their community of followers to Google+ and use new features like Circles and Hangouts to keep in touch."
So we're on blogger - safe, yo?
as of march 1, it was just for non-blogger sites. i may have been misinformed, but i read somewhere that google was going to phase it out for blogger sites too in the {near?} future. i have a feeling they want everyone to migrate to google+. so yep, we're "safe" for now.
howeverrrr....you may have noticed that i removed my little snippet of gfc code anyway. i always say i don't care about numbers, but i always have numbers posted on my sidebar. i thought this was a good excuse to get rid of it once and for all! :) let blogging be for bloggings' sake once again, not for the sake of numbers.
cheers!
